Type 3 Mk.II  (Type B Mk.II)
Year 1942

Type 3 MK.II (also known as “ Type B Mk.II) is a portable transmitter and receiver used from SOE, resistance organisations and special forces. The set is comprised of a separate receiver, transmitter and power pack. Ancillaries, spare valves and fuses are packed in a spare box. Although normally carried in a suitcase, it was later found that watertight container packing was more suitable, especially when used by resistance groups operating in the field. The radio set were intended for ranges over 800km. and was one of the most successful clandestine sets, reliable and higly powered, but having the disadvantage that it was rather heavy and bulky.
